It has been months for the last met up with my buddy, Lawrence. Thus we arranged a casual dinner, with wine for sure. The wines tonight are both on QPR side rather something expensive, fancy. We both had a great, relax night.
Tasting Notes ::
-> Unfortunately this was corked, pity this was L last bottle. According to him, a really good QPR wine.
- Alcohol :: 12.5%
Pop and Poured. I got hint of TCA on the nose and this become heavier after sometime in the glass. Not un-drinkable, still able to taste the root of Bordeaux. Rich palate with some dark fruits, but perhaps due to TCA, the finishing is rather alcoholic and unpleasant. Flaw.
-> By far the best bottle and punching above the price point.
- Pop and poured. Quite pungent spicy aromas over dried tea leaves and game. All the element falling apart with Gevrey like palate profile but the tannin is a bit rough and touch alcoholic finish. 30mins later, the wine started to emerge, aromas of currant liquor, game, dried fig and roasted herb that flow on to the rich, powerful palate with lots of sweet Grenache fruits and earthy tones. Quite lush, while the tannin is integrated which show the best out of 3bottles that i have had, it is still a bit rough with very rich finish.
